Gazipur-Airport BRT line to open by December 2022
Officials from Dhaka Bus Rapid Transit Company Limited said that the elevated Bus Rapid Transit Line 3 project connecting Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with Gazipur would open for vehicles to move in December 2022. They also stated that the civil works for the corridor for buses would be complete by September 2022 at a press conference held at the company's headquarters in the capital. Safiqul Islam, company managing director, stated that the road linking Tongi College and Abdullahpur under elevated BRT lines would be rebuilt before December. He stated that the corridor was difficult to construct due to unremitting vehicular traffic. He added that the overall progress of this project has been 63.27 percent so far. The Greater Dhaka Sustainable Urban Transport Project has the company implementing the 20.5-kilometre BRT corridor. It includes six flyovers, 25 stations, and a 4.5-km elevated road.
